Karl Christian Hood was born on February 24, 1981, in Plattsburgh, New York to his proud parents, Linda and Michael Hood. Just prior to Karl's second birthday, he moved to Tampa, Florida. Karl started Kindergarten in Tampa, and completed the school year in Newport News, Virginia. 
Karl has called Texas his home since 1987 where he also joined Cub Scouts as a Tiger Cub, in Pack 571 of Dallas, Texas. While in Pack 571 he advanced from Tiger Cub to Bobcat.
At the age of 8, Karl joined Den 5, Pack 78 in Richardson, Texas. While in Pack 78 he achieved the ranks of Wolf, Bear and Webelos.
Karl was invited to join Boy Scouts by Mr. Larry Cook of Troop 78 of Richardson, Texas. Karl was a member of Troop 78 for one and a half years. While in Troop 78 he achieved the rank of Scout and earned 1 merit badge.
Karl moved to Frisco, Texas in April 1992 and enrolled in the Frisco Elementary School. He joined Troop 298 in February 1994. Since joining Troop 298, he has achieved the ranks of Tenderfoot, Second Class, First Class, Star, Life and now the coveted Rank of Eagle. Karl has held the following leadership positions within the Troop:

Assistant Patrol Leader
Junior Assistant Scout Master
Troop Guide
Quartermaster

Golden Acorn Training
Troop Junior Leader Training

Karl has also staffed Oak Leaf training.

Camp Grayson, Texas
Camp Alexander, Colorado
Karl was elected to the Brotherhood of Cheerful Service, Order of the Arrow, on April 23, 1995; took his Ordeal on May 20, 1995, and completed his Brotherhood on 10/21/95.
Karl's Eagle project consisted of helping to create the composting area at the City of Frisco's Outdoor Learning Center at Shawnee Park. He was responsible for organizing Boy Scout Troop 298 to spread a dump truck full of mulch, shellacking the information center, helping to creating wooden garden areas & compost areas from landscape timbers, constructing compost bins and staging them. The compost bins show the various stages of composting.
